- Participate in and implement quality improvement initiatives

- Assess, prescribe, and evaluate patient care effectively
- Maintain daily review of nursing care plans
- Conduct detailed rounds to ensure adherence to patient care standards
- Maintain accurate records according to professional and regulatory requirements
- Develop staff duty schedules and manage absences
- Ensure adequate daily staffing levels
- Participate in staff meetings addressing operational goals and concerns
- Report equipment faults and maintenance issues promptly
- Implement disciplinary procedures in collaboration with HR
- Assist with orientation and induction of new staff

- Collaborate with Nursing Manager and Admin/Operations Manager
- Participate in training sessions for nursing staff
- Recommend and provide opportunities for personnel growth and development
- Participate in training needs analysis and develop training strategies
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the Nursing Manager by highlighting matters requiring their attention, such as accidents, incidents, or staff changes
- Assume all duties and responsibilities of the Nursing Manager in their absence
- Actively participate in and implement quality initiatives to uphold the highest standards of patient care
- Maintain current knowledge of new developments in nursing care and treatment protocols
- Competently assess, prescribe, and evaluate patient care, ensuring nursing care plans are up-to-date and under daily review
- Conduct thorough departmental rounds to ensure nursing staff consistently follow patient care standards
- Maintain comprehensive records in compliance with professional, regulatory, and legislative mandates
- Create staff duty schedules, manage staff absences, and ensure staffing levels meet established needs for adequate daily coverage
- Engage in regular staff meetings to discuss equipment, scheduling, objectives, performance metrics, improvement activities, and staff concerns
- Ensure prompt reporting of equipment faults or maintenance problems to the appropriate individuals
- Collaborate with the HR department to implement disciplinary procedures when necessary
- Facilitate the orientation and induction of new staff, ensuring they are properly onboarded
- Educate staff on both new and existing department procedures and systems
- Work collaboratively with team members, including the Nursing Manager and Admin/Operations Manager
- Participate in training sessions designed for nursing staff and care assistants
- Recommend and facilitate opportunities for the professional growth and development of personnel through appropriate education and training
- Contribute to training needs analysis and develop a comprehensive training strategy for nursing staff and care assistants at IHHN
