Skills

• Strategic leadership and vision
• Expertise in Management Sciences, Agronomy, Food Safety, Veterinary Sciences, Plant Protection, Public Health, Trade/Economics, or related fields
• Minimum 15 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in an executive leadership role
• Demonstrated track record in leading regulatory reforms and public sector organizations
• Proficiency in managing multi-disciplinary, geographically distributed teams
• Experience in public finance and governance (budgeting, fund management, audit oversight, internal controls)
• Substantive understanding of WTO SPS, Codex, WOAH, IPPC standards
• Strong stakeholder engagement and diplomacy skills
• Experience driving digital transformation and data-driven management
• Familiarity with Pakistan's agri-ecosystem and SPS regulatory landscape

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead the next phase of NAFSA's operationalisation and institutional reform
• Drive the establishment of regulatory systems and SOPs
• Lead the orderly transition of assets, operations, and personnel
• Provide strategic leadership to Deputy Directors General
• Serve as the institutional face of NAFSA in national and international forums
• Lead negotiations and international coordination for new export markets
• Operationalise a credible SPS regime meeting international buyer requirements
• Streamline pesticide registration and agrochemical standards
• Drive adoption of technology in inspection, certification, track-and-trace, and surveillance systems
• Develop national crisis management capacity for SPS incidents
• Coordinate harmonisation of SPS standards across provinces
