This government initiative ensures a standardized evaluation for postgraduate admissions.

The HAT is structured into five categories, catering to diverse academic disciplines including Engineering & Technology, Management Sciences, Arts & Humanities, Social Sciences, and Religious Studies. Candidates are advised to select the category that best aligns with their intended field of study and university admission requirements. The test results are valid for two years, offering flexibility for future academic planning.

How to apply

• Online Registration: Visit the official ETC portal at http://etc.hec.gov.pk to complete your registration.
• Application Submission: Ensure all required registration data is submitted accurately. Incomplete or saved applications will not be entertained.
• Queries and Complaints: For any issues during registration, please visit https://onlinehelp.hec.gov.pk.
• Personal Details Verification: Carefully check your personal information, including Name, CNIC number, and cell number, before submitting. Discrepancies between CNIC and application data may lead to disqualification.
• Fee Submission: Deposit the test fee through 1Link/1Bill Invoice payment services using the generated consumer number. Online payment can be made via the ETC Dashboard.
• Test Fee: The test fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
• Roll Number Slip: Download your Roll Number Slip from http://etc.hec.gov.pk via email or SMS a week before the test date.
• Required Documents: A printout of your Roll Number Slip and Original CNIC/Passport will be required to enter the test center on the Test Day.
• Test Center Selection: Applicants can select their preferred test center from the available options during the application process. The ETC reserves the right to assign an alternate center if the minimum 250 applicants per center is not met.
• Category Selection: Choose the test category that best matches your specialization. Once selected, it cannot be changed later.
• Prohibited Items: Mobile phones and electronic devices are strictly NOT ALLOWED inside the test center. Sharing images of the question book is also prohibited and may lead to penalties.
