Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform duties and render services as Chairman of Project level Independent Grievance Redressal Committee (IGRC)
- Review and consider un-resolved grievances forwarded by District-Level IGRC related to social/resettlement issues
- Resolve grievances preferably on the first day of hearing or within a period of one month from the date of receiving the cases
- Conduct field investigations for IGRC in case of complicated issues
- Review grievances of indirectly affected persons and/or persons affected during project implementation
- Make decisions by IGRC must be within the purview of RAP policy framework/entitlements and other safeguard documents like EMAP through consensus or failing which, resolution will be based on 2/3 majority vote
- Review the merit of the complaint case received for consideration
- Review the case in the light of related Project activity and within the context of applicable laws/guidelines in Pakistan and/or Project EMAP guidelines
- Undertake field level investigations, if necessary, for review of the case in hand
- Review and resolve the case and recommend necessary measures or mitigation, if required
- Ensure compliance with EMAP and other safeguards for protection of the environment
- Not deal with any matters pending in the Court of Law
- Form a minimum of 05 members for the quorum for the meeting of IGRC
- Undertake any other tasks assigned by the GM / PD Dasu HPP / Senior Officers
