Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assess, diagnose, and manage patients in OPD, IPD, ER, ICU, or specialty units
  • Propose a diagnosis based on history, examination, laboratory, and imaging data
  • Develop and implement treatment plans under Consultant supervision
  • Perform clinical procedures within the scope of training, specialty, and credentialing
  • Participate in ward rounds and case discussions, ensuring timely and accurate patient documentation
  • Respond to medical emergencies and code blue situations, escalating complex cases to Consultants
  • Provide on-call coverage as per the duty roster
  • Stabilize patients and coordinate referrals when required
  • Coordinate with nursing and allied health teams for patient care and continuity of treatment
  • Counsel patients and their families, obtaining informed consent for treatment
  • Monitor patients' progress and modify treatments as their conditions evolve
  • Ensure the allocation of appropriate time and resources for all patient care processes and procedures
  • Provide clinical guidance and ensure adherence to hospital clinical guidelines and SOPs
  • Participate in clinical audits and morbidity and mortality meetings
  • Follow infection prevention and patient safety standards
  • Engage with other teams to facilitate high quality and improve patient experience
  • Ensure all patient care is delivered in compliance with the standards of care set by IHHN, provincial, and national regulatory authorities
