Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide supervision, care, and advice to women during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum
• Conduct deliveries independently at facility and community levels
• Manage complications in pregnancy and childbirth according to basic emergency obstetric care principles
• Offer primary care to women of reproductive age
• Provide essential newborn care, well-baby clinic visits, and neonatal resuscitation
• Perform IMCI and vaccinations as trained
• Counsel and educate women, families, and the community on relevant health topics
• Provide non-surgical family planning methods and counseling for surgical methods
• Obtain specialized assistance and manage referrals
• Share knowledge and skills with midwifery, medical, and nursing students and staff
• Perform administrative duties including patient charting, recording, and reporting
• Participate in research, professional organizations, and committees
• Follow established health center policies, procedures, and objectives
• Adhere to safety, environmental, and infection prevention standards
• Participate in the provision of 24-hour maternity service, including potential evening, night, or on-call duty
