Project Director - Karachi Water & Sewerage Services Improvement Project

The Karachi Water & Sewerage Corporation (KW&SC) is actively seeking a highly qualified and experienced Project Director to lead the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) for the significant Karachi Water & Sewerage Services Improvement Project (KWSSIP-II). This government sector role is crucial for the successful execution of infrastructure development initiatives funded by international partners, including the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).

  • Deputy Project Director (01 Position): Master's degree in relevant engineering or management fields, 10+ years of experience, PMP/Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • Technical & Engineering Specialist (Electro-Mechanical) (01 Position): Bachelor's/Master's in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, 10+ years of experience in electro-mechanical utility projects, FIDIC/MDB experience.
  • Finance Associate (01 Position): Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance/Commerce, 3+ years of experience in financial management, budgeting, or audit, preferably in public sector or donor-funded projects.
  • Head Operational Reforms - KW&SC (01 Position): Bachelor's/Master's in Engineering/Management, 15-20 years of progressive senior leadership experience in utilities, O&M, procurement, and regulatory compliance.
  • Manager Technical & Engineering (01 Position): Bachelor's/Master's in relevant Engineering fields, minimum 20 years of experience with at least 5 years as a manager on civil/mechanical works projects, FIDIC/MDB experience.
  • Technical & Engineering Specialist (01 Position): Bachelor's/Master's in relevant Engineering fields, minimum 10 years of experience on major civil works projects, FIDIC/MDB experience.

Skills

  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Management, Environmental Engineering, Public Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in managing large-scale infrastructure projects, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
  • Certification in PMP (Project Management Professional), Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent is preferred
  • Proficiency in project management software, such as Primavera or Microsoft Project
  • Familiarity with task and issue tracking software, such as Jira or Asana
  • Familiarity with digital tools for performance monitoring and workflow automation
  • Proven experience in risk management and donor-funded project environments, especially World Bank and AIIB
