Respiratory Therapist – Immediate Opportunity
The Indus Hospital has a great opportunity for a Respiratory Therapist to join our Critical Care Medicine team. This short-term, locum position needs a highly skilled and experienced Respiratory Therapist. We are looking for candidates proficient in ventilator management and other critical care procedures. Skills
- Experience in managing patients on Ventilator and NIV in Critical Care Setting
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for assigned patients in the Medical Critical Care Complex, completing 200 hours/month duties in shifts
- Comprehensive ventilator management of patients starts from the need of airway, escalation or de-escalation of oxygen therapy, the need for intubation invasive and non-invasive ventilation with hourly assessment, charting, taking samples of blood gas, and interpretation with change of ventilatory parameters in consultation with a consultant
- Should have experience and be credentialed for Passing arterial catheter
- Management of Airway, assisting intubation, suction, and ventilator support
- Care of patients who require oxygen therapy or airway assistance is the domain of RTs’
- Keeping a record of ventilators and updating daily functional status in MCCC, extubation checklist, and incidents on ventilated patients
- Documentation of all Spontaneous breathing trials being performed along with the parameters being followed as per weaning criteria (weaning policy)
- Involvement in education of airway, suction, intubation, NIV, and ventilator parameters
- Should learn intubation and be involved in education
- Ensuring safe transport of critically ill patients requiring ventilatory assistance both inter-hospital or intra-hospital
