Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for assigned patients in Critical Care Medicine Department (MICU/HDU) in shifts
- Look after critically ill patients in the assigned area of MICU/HDU
- Take patient history and examine in detail
- Implement discussed treatment plans with Registrar/Consultant in a timely manner
- Document patient information in HMIS
- Request blood investigations and imaging, expediting their reports
- Take urgent appropriate action after consultation with Registrar/Consultant on Call
- Insert Central Line, arterial line and apply NIV independently
- Perform intubation and maintain airway under supervision
- Supervise Medical Officers and nursing staff if needed
- Attend and present cases in daily rounds
- Coordinate with different specialties regarding their patients
- Timely update medical teams about any change in patient status
- Attend to and manage emergencies of MICU/MHDU patients
- Communicate with on-call personnel and follow instructions
- Strictly follow Critical Care Medicine department and Indus Hospital (IHHN) SOPs
- Take and give proper handover of patients on bedside to the next shift doctor
- Counsel patients/next of kin and take consent
- Respect patient rights and update if condition deteriorates
- Follow Indus Hospital dress code, rules, rights, regulations, and guidelines
- Continue to improve knowledge and skills by attending CME sessions, workshops, etc
